There are five horses here, all different sizes, three geldings and two mares at the moment, and they were the highlight for me. The estate also has a cat, geese, ducks, and other birds roaming around. A large, well-kept enclosure has plenty of bathing space for the waterfowl, and there’s a huge aviary full of big and small exotic birds, almost like one at a zoo. It’s a sprawling, peaceful property that can be rented in full, with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Each room has its own rustic charm. The showers are large and roomy when they’re separate, rather than built into a bathtub. From the big pool, you can practically see the eleven Ems rivers from the first floor. The main drawback is the access road, about a kilometer of dusty, bumpy dirt track. It’s stony, though, so it probably won’t turn into a mud bath when it rains.
