We had a broken toilet, hot water problems, and electrical issues, and the heating was nowhere near enough for winter. When we asked for solutions, there were lots of promises but very few real fixes, so we ended up leaving early. This place doesn’t meet even the minimum requirements for winter accommodation. A complete disappointment.

The kitchen didn’t have even the basics, and the beds weren’t fit to sleep in. One bed frame collapsed onto the floor in the morning. It was also freezing, with no heating and most air conditioning units out of order. The heaters they provided couldn’t warm the house in late December. A toilet cistern broke during the night and flooded the bathroom. We’d booked the farmhouse for Christmas Eve with about 40 family members, including 10 children and babies. A group arrived the day before, and after just one night decided the place was uninhabitable. We negotiated with the owner to leave and get a refund for the nights we didn’t use. We didn’t leave by choice, and had to improvise Christmas Eve at the last minute. There’s still been no proper response, just stalling. It’s a complete scam, the house is uninhabitable.

The best part was the snack bar and its refrigerators. The outdoor areas were pleasant, but the lawns were badly maintained and had plenty of bare patches. The pool paint was peeling and needed attention, and the pool was only a 3/10 for cleanliness. Inside, there were damp spots and unrepaired wall sections in several rooms and bathrooms. Many taps were clogged with sediment because the water isn’t potable. Our apartment’s kitchen and living room were closed, so we had to use another apartment for breakfast and to keep things in the fridge. There was hardly any kitchenware, and the stovetop was so slow that making a fire with two stones would’ve been quicker and more efficient, though not in our apartment.

We only stayed one night because we scrambled to find somewhere else rather than let the family’s Christmas be ruined. The farmhouse was run down and nothing like the photos. There was no heating anywhere in the middle of winter, the bathrooms were broken and unsanitary, and the beds were torn with awful mattresses. We’re still trying to get the owner to return our deposit since the place wasn’t as promised. A total rip-off.
