The beach is really beautiful, but the apartment itself is old. Getting into the parking space takes ridiculous maneuvering, like trying to park in a bumper car at a fair. I’d read about someone scratching their car, so I’ve become quite an expert at it. They left three rolls of toilet paper, a scouring pad, a dishcloth, a rag, and a 5ml bottle of washing-up liquid. The shower and sink taps are the old swiveling kind you hardly ever see anymore. The double bed is terrible, sloping down on my side so my wife rolls onto me. And the sofa is the worst part. Not even a fakir would sit on it all afternoon.
