Apartamentos Solamaza

A peaceful, pleasant setting. I loved the apartment.

The apartment itself was fine, but felt expensive for what it offered. I didn’t expect the terrace to be so disappointing, and I don’t think it was worth it. It had a table, chairs, and two rather shabby hammocks. A few lights, a nicer hammock, or even some candles would have made it feel more cared for.

The apartment was spacious and fine, and the area was very quiet. There’s a ramp from the street, a landscaped entrance, a pool, and parking with an elevator straight to the apartments. The beach, shops, and a supermarket are only a few minutes away. We stayed as a family for several days. Cleanliness was a problem: there was hair on the living room table legs and toaster, dust on the furniture, musty-smelling drawers, and the toaster was sticky. Security seemed adequate, although the street door was always open and the inner door could simply be pushed open. The website says there’ll be shower gel, shampoo, and toilet paper, so we assumed we wouldn’t run out or need to bring our own. For four people, they supplied four small bottles of each and three rolls of toilet paper. When we ran out and considered asking for more, we were told these were a “welcome” gift and that it wasn’t a hotel. The reception staff at Los Arces were quite polite, but the response could have been better. We asked them to update the website, but it still hasn’t changed. Fortunately, there’s a supermarket nearby, so we bought what we needed. Thank you.

The quiet surroundings and easy walk to Sable beach made this a great family week. The beach is perfect with small children, super safe and close by. We chose an apartment with an extra-large terrace, and that was definitely the right call. It was very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and it had all the appliances we needed, including a hairdryer, blender, and toaster. Parking was convenient too. We’ll be back.
