Apartamentos Oro Blanco

The adult pool is a great asset, and the entertainment was good. Breakfast had a great choice, and the evening food wasn’t too bad. Most staff were brilliant: the bar staff, receptionists, and the rest of the dining room team were helpful and a credit to the hotel. But the dining room manager and his assistant were very, very rude. Those two guys spoiled the whole hotel for me.

The location was ideal, just a 10-minute walk to Veronicas or the Strip bar, as some call it. Staff were friendly, including the lovely woman working at the Hotel Pool Bar. I couldn’t quite understand why the bar shut at 6pm instead of staying open later. I spent a fabulous week in Tenerife in November, staying at the Oro Blanco apartments. The flight and accommodation package was cheap, so I wasn’t expecting a huge room. It was basic, but had a microwave and the usual amenities. I’d readily stay here again if I return to Tenerife.

The reception team couldn’t have been more helpful, especially the early-morning receptionist, and the maid service was spot on. Bar staff were polite and professional too. Rooms were clean, if a bit dated, and well equipped for cooking. My kettle kept tripping the lights, though, and it was never replaced. The pool area closed at 7pm halfway through our holiday. That wasn’t ideal if you didn’t want to stay out after dinner or couldn’t be out late because of the kids. They could at least leave the area lit so people could bring a couple of their own cans and sit by the pool. The in-room internet was a disgrace. It needs a booster or a new supplier, since €28 is expensive. Just got home, and I wish I was back at Ora Blanco. Thanks for a nice stay.

We’ve had a fantastic stay so far. It’s close to everything, the pool is clean, and drinks are cheap enough. For the price it’s absolutely fantastic, but don’t expect a relaxing, quiet holiday. Nightlife is active and music thumps until the early hours. Our studio with a balcony has a fully equipped kitchenette, so we can make our own meals and eat outside in the sun. The rooms are budget, not luxurious. There’s no air conditioning, though you can rent it from the desk. Ceiling fans are provided, but some loose parts make them rattle loudly at times. The beds are a bit lumpy, so we haven’t slept that well.
