Apartment El Dorado

We were on the ground floor, so no waiting for the lifts. The bar by the pool is great, and Hussain and his wife, who run it, are fantastic. The food is amazing too. I had the grilled chicken salad and it was superb. Everything is on your doorstep in this lovely place, with great staff and a super location. I’d 100% recommend staying here.

Our AirBNB was just right. The kitchen area is basic, enough to make a brew and a piece of toast, but there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Try Paddy O'Kelleys for a pint of Guinness and a burger, Spice of India for a curry, or YoLo Sports Bar for a cold lager. We went down to the pool, but it was a bit cold for me. A couple of young kids seemed happy to have it all to themselves. I think it’s a mix of private apartments and Airbnb, because our room was clean and we had WiFi. There was no WiFi, so I couldn’t contact anyone, and the property insisted on using WhatsApp. The kitchen was dirty and untidy throughout most of my stay. I couldn’t cook or clean, and couldn’t use it at all. I arranged for it to be cleaned on our first day, but we waited an hour and nobody came. I repeatedly told the property I had no internet, yet they kept trying to contact me on WhatsApp. The kitchen wasn’t cleaned until the day before we left, and I was very upset and angry. When I texted them on WhatsApp, they were rude and made me feel like it was my fault the property hadn’t been cleaned. I didn’t get the relaxing holiday I’d dreamed of. Every day I was contacting the property to arrange a kitchen cleaning. If someone had shown up at the time we agreed on the first day, all of this would have been resolved. Even after it was “cleaned,” the kitchen was still unpleasant and unhygienic. A very disappointing stay. I won’t stay again, and I felt very uncomfortable being spoken to so badly. If you’re looking for a relaxing, comfortable holiday, this isn’t the place.

The pool and minibar were the best parts of our four-night stay, and the minibar service was excellent. The location was great too. Our apartment felt very dated, though, and the noise at night was really loud. There also aren't enough sun loungers, so we had to wait in the minibar chairs for one to open up. The pool isn't heated.
