Platanito House

The house is big and beautiful, with spectacular views, and the master bedroom is great. The only letdown is that the windows in the two small bedrooms face no view and leave the rooms quite dark.

We paid almost €400 and ended up disappointed by the lack of communication and the contempt shown to people who trust them and pay for conditions that aren't there. I messaged the two people responsible for collecting and returning the keys to explain what happened and how unhappy I was. Neither even replied with an apology. I don't like leaving a review like this, but it's the first time I've felt I had no other option but to post publicly. This isn't a private villa. People live upstairs, and there's noise all day. The bathroom windows look onto another part of the property, where you can see people walking past. You can't enjoy privacy in the jacuzzi unless you make sure everything is properly closed. It wasn't working anyway, despite older reviews suggesting the issue had already been reported. The pool was dirty, with cloudy water, leaves, bugs and other debris. There was no hot water after the first shower, and the house was poorly maintained. Cockroaches and black spiders were throughout the house, especially on the bed, where we found three, as shown in the attached photo. The listing gives incorrect information. If it were accurate, people could choose for themselves, but we arrived unable to enjoy the pool, hot water, jacuzzi or privacy the house was supposed to offer. It's so sad that you pay and then can't use those things because they aren't cleaned or fixed, or because the place is partly shared.

We had a fantastic time at this villa with a group of friends celebrating an event. The barbecue and pool area worked really well for that. The house is spacious, bright and well equipped, and it was spotlessly clean. The owners were attentive and made sure everything was right. Getting there by car was easy, there's parking, and the beach is about a 5-10 minute drive away.

The neighborhood was quiet, and the staff were friendly. The house and grounds are spacious, but it was so dirty that I'm still disappointed and angry. We waited for our vacation just to enjoy two days, then spent them feeling disgusted. I feel like crying over money that wasn't cheap. We booked because the reviews, including ones about cleanliness, were good. Many of the positive ones were from two or three months ago. Maybe they used to look after the house, but now they don't. There was a bad smell throughout as soon as we came in, like trash had been left inside or food scraps in the sink. The sofa had rubbish in every fold. In one crevice, under a toy we rolled over, we found lint, cigarette butts, filters, fabric and paint masking tape, along with a box of cigarette rolling papers. I didn't take a picture because we were cleaning up and leaving. The light switches, especially in the kitchen, were disgusting. Rain had come in through a window and left two small puddles on the floor. This was there when we arrived, and the mop came up chocolate brown. The kitchen cloth was dirty, so I had to rinse it with bleach. The dish rack was filthy too, and the oven was so greasy and dirty we couldn't use it. The master bedroom sheets were worn out, and there were little hairs on them, which disgusted me. There was no way to change them. The towels in every room had been neatly rolled up but were wet, and one had black stains, as shown in a photo. We had no dry spares. The main bathroom toilet had hairs and smelled strongly of urine. Thankfully there was bleach in the kitchen. At dinner, a cockroach crawled under the table and hid under the cabinet when I tried to kill it. We got it the next morning, but then I found another tiny one in the sink. We left on Tuesday. 20 around 4 pm, even though our stay was from Monday, September 19th to Wednesday, September 21st. We'd rather sleep peacefully at home without more 'visits from bugs'. I have a video of the oven, but it won't let me upload it.
