Spring Arona Gran Hotel & SPA - Adults Only

After 44 years of holidays, this is the first hotel I'd want to revisit. We stayed 11 days from the 11 of 21st, and it was brilliant. The manager and staff were all great. The food was fabulous, from breakfast to dinner, with an excellent evening choice of meat, fish, and desserts. We could use our bottle of wine over two nights, which suited me since my partner doesn't drink alcohol. There was good entertainment most nights after dinner, and the hotel has three lovely pools. Looking forward to going back next year.

The exercise classes have a good variety, and the hotel gym is the best I've found abroad. The exercise staff are friendly and know their stuff. The pools are lovely and warm, and the food is very good, especially the amazing gala night. Everyone working here is friendly and helpful. I'd definitely visit again!

We moved here from the Paradise Park in recent years, and it's been a breath of fresh air. The location is amazing, right on the front, and there's plenty of dining space and variety. Staff are great. Our room is fine, though part of the laminate floor is coming away and looks like it got quite wet at some point. Tea and coffee facilities are included. It's adults only, mostly silver haired guests, so it's virtually guaranteed to be peaceful. UP! is worth the 72 euros for a day, with food and drinks included, plus infinity pools and a jacuzzi. For more than one day, it's 55 euros a day. We'll come again.

For a hotel selling itself as a luxury resort, our stay was very disappointing. On three days in a row, guests put towels on sunbeds around 8:30am, then disappeared for hours. Some didn't return until after lunch, used the beds briefly, and left again, leaving them unavailable to paying guests while empty for much of the day. Lifeguards were on duty from 9:00am, but no one dealt with the reserved beds. They often seemed distracted by their phones. Today, even with two lifeguards on duty, they spent a significant amount of time watching and sharing videos while the sunbed issue went unmanaged. That also left me concerned about safety. Lifeguards should keep watching the pools and surrounding areas, stay alert to hazards, and respond quickly in an emergency. Guests feel reassured when trained staff are actively monitoring. Seeing lifeguards on their phones for extended periods naturally made me wonder whether enough attention was being paid. Incidents and tragedies do happen at hotels and pools around the world, which is why vigilance matters. Safety shouldn't seem secondary to personal phone use. At a hotel positioning itself as a premium luxury destination, staff responsible for safety should appear professional and attentive. After dinner, there wasn't even basic hospitality such as tea, speciality coffee, cappuccinos, or lattes after the evening buffet. Many guests like to relax with a coffee after dinner, and hotels in much lower categories offer this. Its absence added to the impression that the facilities and service didn't match the advertised luxury image. Cleanliness was another problem. One morning, there was human faeces on the floor outside the main hotel area, with a trail leading towards the lift, which was also affected. It stayed there for about 30 minutes in a busy public area. A hygiene issue like that should be dealt with immediately, especially at a hotel promoting premium standards. The poor rule enforcement, lack of management, limited amenities, concerns about poolside attention, and slow response to the mess were well below what we'd expect at this rating and price. We were disappointed, and will return to the neighbouring H10 hotel, where we've consistently had better management, service, cleanliness, and guest care.
