We had an apartment on the third floor, and there’s no lift. The rooftop terrace is spacious, open to all guests and has lovely views. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the flat felt cosy, with nice decor and all the amenities. A bottle of water was waiting in the fridge; tea, coffee and sugar would have been a nice addition. It’s right in central Arrecife, beside Charco de San Gines, the main shopping street, restaurants and supermarkets. The bus station and stops for exploring other parts of Lanzarote aren’t far. The main downside was noise, since you could hear the neighbors out on the building patios.

The room we had on the third floor a few days later was awful. The bed looked like it might fall apart, the TV didn’t work, the bathroom window wouldn’t close, and it was extremely noisy, with people in nearby apartments constantly slamming doors and yelling in the corridor. That was a big change from our first-floor room, which was quiet and had a good bed and amenities.

Good value for a comfortable little studio in the center, with plenty of things within walking distance. There’s no view or terrace or balcony, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and the place was clean.

At 8 am on our first morning, loud hammer drilling on the other side of the bedroom wall jolted us out of bed. I complained to the owner, but she wasn’t interested and blamed other building work across the street, based on a video she sent me. Clueless! I had to contact booking.com to cancel and get a refund, then we found somewhere else in Peurto del Carmen.

The room was new and tidy, and the price was good. The window looked out onto the parking lot, though, which wasn’t a nice view.
