Hotel Can Moragues

Such a calm, quiet place to relax, and the staff made our stay special. Breakfast was delicious, and you can ask for extras like scrambled eggs, omelette, bacon, or more bread. Afternoon check-in is possible by phone: call the number and a staff member will open the gate. A few things could be better in the room: a fridge, a dryer for wet clothes, and stronger Wi-Fi. It worked well in the main area and garden, but not as well in our room.

Arta feels very safe, though we definitely noticed some anti-tourism sentiment around town. The hotel itself has a welcoming charm, with beautiful rooms that are all different, right in the old town. We had a fantastic trip and would rate it five stars on Google, with the hotel deserving four stars. The trouble was booking massages. A time was offered and we accepted, but the slot had already been taken. There was no gap between appointments, so one treatment ran 40 minutes over, and another was forgotten entirely. It made things stressful and uncomfortable before the treatments. A diary for bookings would make scheduling clearer and easier.

The staff were welcoming, responsive, and very nice, and everything was extremely clean. We slept badly, though. The building has no soundproofing, so it’s a tough choice for light sleepers. We could hear people talking outside the room and the metal key turning loudly in the wooden door. There was also loud music from a public speaker for ten minutes in the morning, along with a toddler crying constantly. We couldn’t get a sound, restful sleep until 10 during our holiday. The bed was really comfortable, breakfast fresh and delicious, and parking easy and free.

A Mallorcan family owns and runs this beautiful old house turned boutique hotel. The people working there were super friendly, and the breakfasts were delicious, with a cozy atmosphere throughout. Arta is a great base for exploring the island. I’d recommend the hotel for couples or families with older children.
