Albergue Vía Láctea - Hostel

The rooms were nice and the location was great, but our experience with an employee was awful. A sink broke while we were using it, and although we had nothing to do with the damage, he blamed us, screamed at us, and became very confrontational. This was the employee working the night of October 14, 2025. I’ve never been treated so badly in any of my hotel stays, and I usually book 50 or more a year. I’d say don’t go there until that person is gone.

I came on foot from France, and this is simply the best albergue I’ve ever stayed in. Everything was brilliant, just super awesome. At 15€, it’s cheap compared with the rest. I’ll recommend it to everyone doing The way of saint James.

We were a group of nearly 60 staying at this hostel, and staff assured us the rooms had been fumigated because we were worried about bedbugs. By morning, all 60 of us were covered in them. They were crawling on the walls too, absolutely disgusting and unclean. My friend had to lie on the floor for hours that night, and the staff were very rude. There was a door from my room onto the street, and strangers walked through my room all night. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Reviews about bedbugs go back as far as five years.

The staff and the cleaning lady were friendly, and I slept well in the clean room with thick, warm blankets. There was a plug, small table, and chair beside the bed, plus an elevator to the rooms. The bathroom was clean and had complimentary sanitary napkins and toiletries. The shared kitchen and common area looked cozy, and there’s a leg massage machine for 2eu. It was absolutely worth it, and the only albergue I know that offers one. At 15eu a night, it was the most expensive albergue I’d stayed in on the Camino, but I think it was worth the price.
