I was here in November, in the off-season, and it was comfortable with just a few people around. There are 10 beds in one room, with one toilet and bathroom per room. The house is lovely, full of decorations. I liked the location as well as the house, and the breakfast bag was a nice touch.

The single bed was comfortable, and the decorations are pretty, but I didn’t have a good stay. There was only one shower and bathroom in the room, and we weren’t allowed to use the kitchen. It felt more like I was intruding in the hostess’s home than staying somewhere with the spirit of the Camino.
Patricia made a pilgrimage herself, then decided to buy a house and turn it into an albergue. Knowing that story added to the magic of the dinner, which was Brazilian food. The beds were low, with soft bedding, and the bathroom was the best I’ve had on the Caminos. The atmosphere was so friendly that I felt at home, and the whole experience had the Camino spirit. On June 13, 2022, we started out speaking Spanish, then switched to Portuguese, even though I hadn’t spoken it for years. It was a perfect experience.
The host was really nice, and the place felt homey. Dinner came in generous portions, though there wasn’t much to it, and I don’t think it was worth €19. You can make up your own mind. My stay was good, but the WiFi didn’t really reach the rooms.
On April 29, 2025, the day after Spain had an unprecedented power outage, public transport was still affected. My family and I, including our six-year-old, were meant to reach Astorga and stay the night. After 24 hours of travel, our train was late. I contacted the hotel manager, and we did our best to arrive by 10:30 p.m. The manager refused to check us in, saying she was “tired,” and kept the reservation money. She said guests weren’t allowed to leave the hotel after 10:30 p.m., though that condition wasn’t in the advertisement. I encourage pilgrims to double-check this before booking.
