The welcome was warm, and I'll be back soon. The food and service were amazing, with quality ingredients and local flavors in every dish. My favorite was the prawn and mushroom dish, though anything with chickpeas is worth trying. Save room for dessert too. The raspberry cheese foam was light and refreshing, just the fluffy finish a good meal needs.

We had a long, quiet meal and enjoyed it. The calamari was shared as an appetizer, the steak was very good, and my dessert was a foamy, fruity delight. Service was superb, too. Our attendant was precise about the cutlery and very attentive, with helpful recommendations and advice.

Ramón gave us superb service, and I'll definitely return. The place was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was a good selection of wines for pairing, and the local-ingredient dishes were excellent. The plates were carefully prepared, with plenty of choices, from Cocido to fresh fish and meat. Everything arrived hot, nicely presented, and quickly, and most of all it tasted great. 💯🍷👌

La Peseta is in a lovely spot in Astorga's old historic center, and we were waited on by the owner, who was out on the restaurant floor making sure customers were happy with the food and service. We were only visiting Astorga for the day and didn't stay at the hotel. On a trip to northern Spain, I'd spend at least a day in this quaint little city, just 45 minutes from Leon, and make a stop here. The food quality, presentation, and service were top notch. The Cocido Maragato was delicious, rich, and abundant enough for two people with some left over. The salads use the freshest ingredients and the highest quality olive oil. You can't go wrong having lunch or dinner at La Peseta.
