Hostal El Bodegon

Just normal.

There’s a little restaurant downstairs. The menu’s limited, but the food is good and fairly priced. We had the cachopo, and it was huge. The place itself is clean, has everything, and is good for the price. Just keep in mind it’s spread over several floors and there’s no lift.

The biggest issue for me is the key system. One key opens the street entrance and every room, so someone else’s key could let them into your room. That doesn’t feel safe. The duvet also had some pretty gross yellow stains. The rest of the sheets and the room were clean, so maybe it was just an oversight, but it was still unpleasant. We were left with only half a roll of toilet paper and no spare. On the good side, the staff were very friendly, the location was good, and the room was comfortable. There was a fan if it got hot.

I slept wonderfully in the bed, which was the best part. The room wasn’t clean enough, though, and the bathroom was worst of all. There was mold in the shower, the shower handset was awful, and water leaked from the screen. Cleaning and maintenance seemed neglected.
