Hotel Ciudad De Ávila

The price for my room was phenomenal, especially considering how carefully it was set up. I had a huge mirror, enough outlets in sensible places, clean towels, shower gel, shampoo, a bedside table, a temperature control and even a TV. It was easily the best room I’ve stayed in for that price, and I’ve been to a lot of hotels in several countries. I enjoyed it so much and wish I could have stayed longer. The whole place looked new, from the outside of the building to the clean, modern and elegantly decorated lobby. My room seemed practically brand new too. There’s a restaurant with a terrace that I didn’t try, though it looked lovely and well kept. You can check yourself in at the hall, or walk through the door to the reception right beside it. The receptionist, who may or may not be the owner, was friendly and helpful, and a woman there was exceptionally kind. Many thanks to the receptionists and owners!

Make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant next door, it’s popular with locals. I had the Chuleton de Avila and it was delicious, and the patatas fritas were some of the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast is simple and costs 5 euros. The hotel itself is modern, clean, spacious and comfortable, with good clean rooms, comfortable beds and a nice ensuite. There’s a bus stop right outside, with a ride into town taking about 10 minutes. The man at reception was very friendly too. Avila is a wonderful city, and this was a brilliant place to stay for the price.

The bathroom and shower are both roomy, and you can get loft rooms with a kitchenette. It’s a comfortable, new hotel not far from the city center. Breakfast was a bit sparse, though. I’d have expected a continental buffet with eggs and some hot food.

It’s a new hotel, but staying there felt more like being in a sweet home while traveling. The reception staff were really helpful and explained everything to us. A super nice place to stay.
