The hotel thoughtfully sends a map and a list of sights, with opening and closing times, before check-in. Staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English. They were accommodating and understanding when we needed to change rooms. Our garden room was lovely, peaceful, and refreshing. On weekends, though, you may hear people in adjoining rooms talking, sneezing, and laughing. The room and bed were comfortable, and we slept well. The location is right by the heart of Old Town: in summer you can sit at tables beneath the medieval city wall at the Leyendas restaurant. In winter, when the restaurant is closed, it’s a two minute walk to the wall, which feels truly magical at night. Breakfast is only served on weekends. We had it on a Sunday: traditional tortilla, a kind of crustless egg and potato quiche, plus fruit, breakfast butter cakes, juice, hot chocolate (Cola Cao), coffee, tea, and water. Filling and satisfying. My one small complaint was mold in the shower and no soap by the bathroom sink, though you can lean into the shower to get bath gel for your hands. I recommend the hotel and would come back.

Katia at reception was very helpful, suggesting walks and sights and experiences in Ávila that shouldn’t be missed. She speaks three languages fluently. We also really enjoyed the food at La Bruja restaurant on the top floor. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and handy for sights, restaurants, and transport. I’d stay here again if I’m in Ávila.

The hotel is cute and well located, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t amazing, but suited the 5€ price. The serious downside was four creepy men hanging around the lobby at night. On our first night, one was looking around and another stood near the rooms. We assumed he was security, but he wasn’t. They harassed me and my girlfriend, offering to sleep in our room. After we said no, they followed us and knocked on our door a few times. We panicked and called hotel security, who dealt with it right away. We still don’t know who the men were or what happened, only that they were gone the next morning. I wouldn’t recommend this for women traveling alone.

We stayed with our three dogs, and they were welcomed. The hotel was modern, very clean, and in a great location. The staff were friendly, and it was a lovely stop. We’d definitely stay again.
