Palacio De Monjaraz

The service was excellent, and the hotel is a good choice in a great spot in the old town center. Parking took some effort. Our room was nice but old, and there was no air conditioning in the middle of summer. It was fairly noisy, though I think that may have been down to the group staying there at the time. Recommended.

We had a lovely room with tasteful decor, a four-poster bed, and a sitting area. The hotel is in a charming historic building, so there’s no A/C. I can live with that if it means keeping the original buildings intact instead of covering every city facade with air-conditioning units. There’s no WiFi either, but with good 4G coverage, who needs it? The staff were helpful, and breakfast was a good continental-style spread.

We were able to check into our room early, and the hotel has a welcoming cafe and bar area where you can relax with or without kids. The location in the city center is fantastic, and the value was the best we found, well beyond what we expected. The building and room are nicely decorated, though definitely old. A window latch in our room wouldn’t close, and the small balcony door was stiff, but neither was a real problem and it added to the charm. The standard double bed was very comfortable, if a bit small. We found the bathroom soap a little too chemical-smelling. We’d happily recommend it and stay again.

The hotel itself is stunning, and my room exceeded what I expected. It was very spacious, with thoughtfully chosen furniture and a really comfortable bed. One of the best hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in.
