There were five of us for the weekend, and the hot water ran out after our third shower on Saturday. I messaged the owner on WhatsApp to ask if something was wrong, and she said she didn’t know. The same thing happened Sunday, so we had to heat water in a pot. When we left, I brought it up again, and her response left us speechless. She said we should have told her right away, which is exactly what I’d done, and didn’t even acknowledge the problem. Unbelievable.

It’s a cozy, very clean place on one floor, adapted for people with reduced mobility. The two bedrooms are nicely decorated, but the mattress in the bedroom is uncomfortable and brings the rating down. It has underfloor heating, though the house feels very cold. When you light the fireplace, which draws really well, the radiators switch off and the rooms end up freezing. Firewood isn’t provided, so you have to find some in the village or buy it. There are no nearby shops apart from the baker who comes in the mornings, so you’ll need a car to get around. I’d suggest adding a dishwasher, oven, and Wi-Fi.

Only the living room feels comfortable when the fireplace is going. The bedrooms and bathrooms are quite cold, and the double bedroom mattress is old and too soft. The house itself is nice, very clean, and well maintained. The kitchen could use an oven and dishwasher. Otherwise, it’s fine.

There’s plenty of space and it’s all on one floor, with a nice garden and a fireplace that draws well. Everything was clean and well kept, and they even left delicious chocolates for us on the first day. The house has a washing machine, microwave, and coffee maker, but no oven or dishwasher. There are two bedrooms and a sofa bed in a large hallway area, so I think it works for four adults and one child at most. I wouldn’t recommend going in winter because the bedrooms get cold. We told the owner, who said the thermostat was set to 21 degrees Celsius, but it must be near the fireplace: when the fire is on, the heating doesn’t come on, even with the bedrooms at 16 degrees Celsius. There was enough bedding to stay warm, but not enough firewood for our whole stay. The double mattress in the triple room was very good; the one in the twin room needs replacing.
