Hotel Villa San Jorge

There was no hospitality and the atmosphere was terrible. The night worker was very rude. We're not living in the age of slavery anymore.

We found a room with no ventilation and no hot water. Don't go. There was no hot water, and our WhatsApp message and calls went unanswered. Even after they read the message, they said nothing. Only when we told them we were leaving did they say they were looking into it. We went to find someone at the property so we could hand over the key, but nobody was there. The staff only answer the phone, and the service is awful. Ask a question and they hang up. They'd told us to arrive early because they were leaving, so we showed up 15 minutes before the agreed time. Nobody was there, and they opened the door remotely. If they work remotely, why tell us to come early? There's no ventilation in the room. We don't understand how tourism inspectors approve a bedroom with no windows. Worse, people smoke in the next room, and the tobacco smell comes through the bathroom. Horrible. We don't understand how Spanish tourism rules can approve a windowless, airless hovel where the only air comes from the toilet in the next room, leaving you to breathe all its smells, and call it a hotel room. There was no hot water either, and they didn't answer or fix the problems. I strongly urge the regional authorities, tourism inspectors, and the national Ministry of Tourism to inspect this place thoroughly and, if needed, take it off the map and revoke its licenses, if it has any. It's an affront to the quality of tourism in this country. These people should have their tourist licenses revoked, and their Spanish citizenship too, for the terrible image of Spain they give tourists by putting them in any old hovel without ventilation or hot water and calling it a hotel room.

The bar couple were incredibly friendly and looked after anything we needed. The country hotel itself is welcoming, modern, and impeccably maintained, with obvious cleanliness and a strong sense of safety. I hope things go well for them.
