Hotel Hospedería Larrañaga

We all agreed the rooms and meals cost less than we'd expected for what we got. Our supper was delicious and relaxed, with Basque dishes and drinks on the menu. Our waitress helped explain it all to our group from the Midwest United States. Breakfast felt like being let loose in a Basque pastry shop, with some cold meats and cheeses too, and thick, tasty fried bacon that Marie made. The family, Maria and Alfredo and their daughter Olatz, worked hard to make everyone feel welcome, with cheerful, professional service. The hotel was a real surprise. There was plenty of parking, and the plain exterior hides a very clean, comfortable hotel and restaurant. The building has more than 300 years of history, starting out as a barn and stable. The restaurant feels like an old wine cellar, while the rooms have a castle feel with modern conveniences. The air-conditioned bedrooms have WiFi and large bathrooms. All eight rooms open onto a shared lounge with a billiard table, board games, and comfortable seating. Our group of nine would give the place and the family and staff who run it five stars.

The family running the place treated us really well, and I loved having a restaurant right there. The food was very good. Our room was spacious and clean, with the country charm I liked. Loved this place, highly recommend it.

Maria cooked us a wonderful breakfast and made a real fuss over our group the whole time. She made me feel like family. This family owned hotel and restaurant was amazing, and they welcomed us so warmly. We can't thank Maria and her family enough!

The dining hall has a really cool feel, and the food was absolutely amazing! The people were thoughtful, friendly, and so kind. Service couldn't have been better. The rooms are huge and comfortable, with very nice bathrooms.
