The location makes it easy to explore the historic center, with shops and restaurants nearby and places like the Alcazaba, Plaza Mayor, Puerta de Palma, and the river about a 15-minute walk away. It’s a good alternative to a hotel, too: a clean house with typical Extremaduran decor, friendly service, and a fair price.

Right in central Badajoz and very close to the cathedral, this hostal worked perfectly for a quick overnight stay. The beds were comfortable, the showers were good, and the price was low. The owners were lovely and really friendly.

The room felt a little damp, though it wasn’t a serious problem. Everything was clean and reasonably priced, but the location gets very noisy on weekends, at least, and the soundproofing could be better.

It’s in a great spot with plenty of bars and restaurants around. Parking is the one drawback we noticed, though when you’re young it’s not such a big deal. For the money, it’s simply the best value in Badajoz.
