The rooms are fine and the location is nice, but I wasn't sure about the food.

It's a basic hostel, but it covers what you need.

The people were lovely, and the location was good.

The food needs attention most urgently. The issue isn't that the meals are simple or aimed at children, it's the very low quality of the ingredients. Breakfast was awful, with industrial pastries and sausages I couldn't eat. Even the coffee was poor. They don't need to add more choices, just find a decent supplier. This is a municipal facility, and the food shouldn't be so unhealthy and bad. The hostel is clearly the cheapest choice when travelling with children, but a lot needs improving. The whole place needs renovation, from rooms and bathrooms to shared spaces. Mattresses and bed bases need replacing, and the wardrobes are worn out; there are cracks too. The bathrooms are in a sorry state. The water pressure is very low, so it swings between freezing and scalding. They're also awkward for children, with sinks and towel rails set too high, taps that are hard to turn, and showers with high-up, hard-to-reach controls. The air conditioning needs rethinking too, perhaps because of efforts to save money. It should be adjustable in each room. Waking in the night overheated with a dry throat from dehydration isn't acceptable. Some lighting is outdated as well. The games room is almost torturous and needs someone to rethink it and make the space more welcoming.
