Finca Salvador

The setting is lovely, but this turned into a terrible stay because we could barely sleep. The owner's dog barked through the night, and after we asked three times for help, he tied it up about 10 meters from the house. We could still hear it clearly. There was plenty of space on the large property to put the dog somewhere else. Other problems added up: the mattresses were poor and only 180 cm long, the shower had no screen or curtain so the bathroom got soaked, and the tiny refrigerator didn't cool. The spiral staircase was extremely steep and under 50 cm wide, making it unsuitable for older people or anyone with reduced mobility. We slept only one of our four nights. The owner's response left us feeling he just wanted our money and wanted nothing more to do with the problem. A disaster. Don't waste your money.

The peace and quiet on the grounds made our 12-day stay especially lovely. The setting is beautiful, with plenty of room to relax, and Baralla is just 2 or 3 kilometers away, an easy walk. Every room has spectacular views. From the main bedroom, we enjoyed wonderful nights looking at the stars and moon. The house itself was excellent. The kitchen is very spacious and fully stocked. We only made breakfast and dinner, and the refrigerator worked perfectly for us. The living and dining room, plus the lounging area, were so nice I wish I had them at home. The bedrooms are large, with big closets that made it easy to keep everything organized. The bathroom was a pleasure too, especially the shower window looking out toward the distant hills. We didn't get a chance to use the barbecue area, but it looked great. The owner's hospitality, along with his wife's and daughters', was lovely from the moment we arrived. They were such kind people. We were also provided with plenty of changes of clothes, towels, sheets, tablecloths, napkins, and other household linens. The house was spotless, the bedding smelled wonderful and felt so smooth, and the towels were just as nice. Vases of flowers throughout the house made it feel like stepping into an enchanted forest. The natural surroundings are hard to beat. Thanks again for the kindness and for a wonderful holiday. We'd gladly stay again. A big hug to the owner and his family, and to Blas and Thor, the two wonderful mastiffs my children loved spending time with. Thank you from the heart.

The dogs were very friendly, and the host stayed attentive throughout our six days. This is a great place to get away, with amazing scenery, pets allowed, and easy access to Lugo and several hiking trails. The beds and sofa bed were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. A few things could be better: there are no curtains, so privacy is reduced, and the TV is small, which wasn't ideal for watching a movie. The refrigerator is also a bit small. There isn't Wi-Fi in the house, though mobile coverage was good and we had no trouble using our data.

Finca Salvador felt very welcoming and properly rural, and the surroundings were sublime. The house was well insulated against the cold, and the beds were excellent. Óscar was attentive to what we needed from the moment we got there. The two mastiffs were so calm and gentle that we barely noticed them, and they were wonderful company. We spent three days there and have nothing but praise. Highly recommended. Thanks for everything, Óscar.
