La Aceitera de Trafalgar

Getting to the beach takes a drive or a walk along an unmarked nature trail, which was the one small drawback. Otherwise, the apartment had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom, and it was spotless. The staff were warm and helpful, always ready with recommendations and attentive to the details. We had excellent service.

The huge terrace was a highlight, and you can take breakfast up there. The rooms are modest and small, but clean and have what you need. Getting there by car is tricky, though paths lead to Caños de Meca, Zahora, and their beaches. Juan and his family made the place special. Juan is kind and helpful, and I felt I could count on him for anything. I’ll happily return. It has a charm of its own. Thanks for everything.

Room number 2 was tiny and nothing like the pictures. The bed was against one wall, with only a 40-centimeter gap on the other side. The bathroom was dirty, and the damp shower curtains had mites. Rain came through the patio door overnight and ran down the wall by the air conditioner. The view was of a shed full of junk. I wouldn’t stay again.

Luisa’s kindness and positive energy made my stay. The breakfast was tasty, healthy, and good value, with seasonal fruit. The hostel is right by Trafalgar Lighthouse and beautiful Zahora beach, a great spot if you want to completely switch off. I’ll be back. Greetings from Bilbao, and thanks so much for everything!
