Exe Barberà Parc

I went with my parents for two nights in the third week of August, and this was easily one of my worst hotel stays. The hotel is a long way from the city centre, with no public transport nearby apart from cabs. Given the location, we waited more than 15-20 minutes for Uber cabs to arrive. There was no water in the room and no kettle. After travelling widely, I still found that a strange budget hotel setup. We tried the breakfast buffet, but the food was terrible and there was little or no variety. The buffet staff were extremely rude and showed no basic courtesy when speaking to us. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. It was the worst hotel experience I’ve had.

We were six people and arrived a little late, almost as the restaurant was closing. They still welcomed us and never rushed us. The restaurant and front desk service were excellent, and the women at reception were helpful and nice on both the night and day shifts. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The one real drawback is the location: without a car, there’s nowhere you can get to from here.

The room was spacious and had a tub and a bum rinser, which was a surprise. Breakfast was okay, but there was no water heater in the room. The hotel is a long way from downtown, so I spent a lot going back and forth by taxi. I really don’t know how I picked it, since I’m usually careful about choosing hotels. Wrong choice for a tourist, I guess it might suit business guys better.

The staff were lovely and breakfast was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re totally deaf and don’t drive. Noise carried through the thin, uncarpeted walls: toilets flushing upstairs were easy to hear, and kids ran along the corridor at 5:30am. It was still loud close to 1am, with children in the corridor and adults shouting and slamming doors. The parking spaces were laid out for 1960s Fiat 500s. Their widths vary, and some are extremely narrow. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.
