Durlet Rambla Mar Apartments

The hosts were welcoming and quick to respond whenever we had a question or needed help. Everything was clean, cozy, and well looked after, and the apartment had all the things we needed, plus more. Being close to both the beach and metro made getting around the city easy. We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for comfort and a convenient spot near the beach and public transport.

There’s plenty of food and bars around, and the metro is a few blocks away. The furniture is a bit dated, but the kitchen has a dishwasher and there’s a washing machine, so I could look past that since we were there to see Barcelona. Noise is something to consider before booking, though. The neighbors and the area were loud. A family with a child lived above us, and they ran around and dragged dining chairs across the floor until about 1am. I sleep well, so it didn't bother me much, but light sleepers may not do well here. We had almost no hot water for our entire stay, which meant all three of us had cold showers every day in the middle of winter. That’s why I gave it three stars. Not cool.

For a couple of days in Barcelona, we wanted somewhere with a balcony, and this place fit. It cost 82 a night. A friendly employee met us to hand over the key and show us around. The apartment felt fairly modern, with a full kitchen and a balcony furnished with two chairs and a table. We enjoyed wine and cheese out there. Someone needed to come in to take measurements, and it took a long time. They made up for it by letting us check out late. I’d consider staying here again if we’re in town.

We paid 1,100 € for seven days, plus 35 for checking in after 7 and 35 for hotel tax. For a two-bedroom apartment, it wasn’t a bad price. It had a kitchen, clothes and dishwasher, furniture, and pretty much all the kitchen and bathroom things we needed. The area was nice, on a Rambla walking street, and the beach was about a five-minute walk away. The apartment was over three bars and restaurants, with patios at the front and back, and the noise carried on into the early hours every night of the week. People above us were noisy too. The walls and windows barely blocked sound, so sleep was disrupted, which is the main point of a hotel. The floors, walls, and furniture showed plenty of wear, and the furniture was a bit dated. We also didn't like being asked to say it was in perfect condition when we checked in.
