The apartment itself looks nice, but getting inside was a mess. We waited more than 45 minutes for the door code, then had to deal with a nasty “manager” on the phone. You need to use an app to unlock the doors, and if it doesn't work, you have to call someone to open both the building entrance and the apartment. Mornings were really loud, with banging, scraping and other strange noises that made it hard to sleep. The building's stated quiet hours are 9pm-6am, but it didn't seem like anyone else knew about them. One night someone was vacuuming at 1am, going over what sounded like every tile and even the walls. Another night, it sounded like someone was drilling into the building. The shower has no curtain, so water sprays everywhere and leaves the bathroom slippery. We weren't given enough towels, and getting more would have cost extra. WiFi and the door codes were switched off by 6am on checkout day, even though checkout was at 11am, so don't expect to leave and come back before then. I also didn't feel secure knowing management, or anyone with the app, could unlock our apartment at any time. There were no extra locks, and two fire escape windows could be accessed easily. The place isn't worth the stress.

The apartment was clean, but the beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, and you have to take your own trash out. Getting the door codes took several phone calls because the management company was difficult to reach. We visited in February, and the noise outside from 1 to 3am was really loud. I can't imagine how it is in summer. Their quiet hours are 10pm-6am, but someone was vacuuming at 1am, sounding like they were covering every tile and even the walls. The WiFi and door codes were turned off by 6am on our checkout day, so you can't plan to go out and get back before checkout. The location was decent, but I'd look for somewhere else to stay.

Getting into the apartment took a couple of hours. We were told we could enter, but nobody came to help as the message had promised. The code opened an apartment that already had other people in it. After we apologized and contacted Habitat, a representative finally arrived about an hour later. It still took several more calls and over an hour and a half to get the correct code. These things can happen, but it wasn't our mistake, and Habitat Apartments is now blaming us and keeping part of our deposit. The service has been very bad, and the Nuki unlocking system is unfriendly to deal with. They charged €300 to my credit card as a deposit. You need the Nuki app to unlock both the entrance and apartment doors, with the code supplied by Habitat Apartments.

The apartment is handy for exploring Barcelona, and the entry code makes getting in easy without worrying about losing a key. They provide towels, though there's no kitchen towel.

The apartment feels old and musty, and the renovation seems to have been done just enough to get it ready to rent. The bathroom handle keeps coming off, and you have to hold the kitchen cabinets to open them. There was no shower pressure, and the hot water only lasted for one person, even though there were four of us. The apartment can only be opened through an app installed on one phone, so if you lose that phone or its battery dies, you can't get inside. The €300 deposit was sprung on me the day before check-in. It hadn't been mentioned anywhere, and since I'd already paid for the apartment, I couldn't cancel. They said it was for any damage, though there was little there besides the repairs. When I ask them questions, they usually reply the next day at best. I still don't know if they'll return the deposit because they aren't answering. For this price, you could rent a much better apartment.
