The best part was the clear, crisp air and how quiet it was. We also loved the views across to the snowy Sierra Nevada, from a campsite 1111 metres (3,670 ft) above sea level. The bus to Granada stops at the gate in both directions. It takes about 30 minutes and costs less than 2 Euros each way, paid in cash on the bus. Reception has a local map and timetable. We cycled to Beas Granada and Huetor-Santillan, enjoying the hills, though we couldn't find a post office or a coffee. WiFi was free and worked well, and 10-amp electricity was included. There was just one place to fill up with water. The restaurant was closed and for sale, and the quiet campsite was about to shut for a few days over Christmas and New Year.

The spot near Granada is lovely, probably the strongest thing about this campsite. The pitch was small, though, and not big enough for a camping car. It may not suit you if you're after peace and quiet. Smoking around children seemed to be accepted, loud Bluetooth music was tolerated, and people drank alcohol in the swimming pool. The manager said, “it’s fine as long as you use an ashtray.” If you're not looking for a party-like atmosphere with little regulation, you may want to look elsewhere.
A lovely mountain view, clean bathrooms and showers, and friendly reception staff. A few shower fixtures were broken. The bus stop is right outside, which makes it easy to get to Granada. We were in a roof tent, and the dogs barking in the local village could be heard 24/7. One night I was awake until 3am, even with ear plugs.
The sanitary facilities are still very clean, but that's about the only thing we liked this time. The restaurant has been closed forever, and after three years away we were given a tiny pitch, just right for a scale model car and a tent. We were very disappointed and can take this place off our favourite campings list.
The views are fabulous, and the pitches are generous in size. Reception staff are really helpful, and the ablutions are kept clean and fresh smelling. There's a bus stop right outside the site for Granada, though service is reduced at weekends. The restaurant outside the gate was closed, which was the one downside and outside the campsite's control. But there's an excellent restaurant in the local village, just 800m away. A fabulous little site.
