Beasain is small enough to get around on foot, and Hotel Dolarea sits in a peaceful spot beside a creek and some fascinating cottage-like structures. It’s a few blocks from a grocery store and the train station, with a direct route to the beautiful city of San Sebastian. My sister and I spent a comfortable, pleasant week there. The room was spacious, clean, and very peaceful, with comfortable beds and sheets. There weren’t many toiletries, but they did provide plenty of toilet paper. The shower was delightful, with strong pressure and hot water. I was also pleased by the restaurant’s vegan choices, which I hadn’t expected to find in Beasain. I especially liked the vegan meatballs and had them for dinner almost every night. The wonderful concierge, Arrieta (sorry if I’ve got her name wrong), let us check in early. She speaks great English, also supervises the restaurant, and was lovely to interact with. Check-in and checkout were straightforward, with no hidden charges or other issues. We had a delightful week in Dolarea.

The people here are the best, always checking that you’re happy and looked after. The food feels like an art form: the menu changes every day, with interesting dishes, amazing meat and seafood, and some surprisingly tasty salads. I’m not usually much of a salad eater, but I’ve had several great ones here. The hotel is great too, with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. It feels like my home away from home. If you’re in this part of Spain, I highly recommend trying the Dolarea.

The stay itself was nice, but I had to pay upfront. The hotel couldn’t provide an invoice with the company address directly, and now I’ve spent several days and emails trying to get a response.

A nice area for taking a few days off, surrounded by valleys and mountains with plenty to do outdoors. There’s parking in the same building and a restaurant too, with good prices.

The food is great, even late in the evening, and the place is comfortable and clean. I wouldn’t think twice about staying here. I’ll definitely return.
