BYPILLOW Cluc Begur

Begur is small enough to walk everywhere, and the hotel is close to the bus stop as well. We stayed five nights to see Begur, and this was the best place we could have chosen. The staff were lovely and helpful. The historic building was beautifully decorated, just beautiful.

The manager deserves a special mention for going out of the way to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a charming, small historic hotel right in the town centre, on a traffic-free street. Highly recommended.

The location is nice, but I wouldn’t recommend this “hotel.” The photos are misleading. Our room was damp and humid, dark like a cave, and had no windows. It was very noisy, with people and plumbing audible. The room was tiny for two, and there was no fridge, just one stained chair. The cheap, basic lamps and furniture made for poor lighting. The bathroom wasn’t clean. There was also nowhere to hang wet swimwear or towels on the terrace we thought we had.

The friendly staff moved us to another room after we spoke with them, but management refused to compensate us for that first night. We were first put in a horrible ground-floor room. The listing photos were misleading: what was described as a terrace or balcony was actually the hotel’s breakfast terrace. We couldn’t open the curtains or a window for fresh air, and other guests having early breakfast woke us extremely early. It was far too expensive for what we got.
