Hotel finca Almejí

Eight of us stayed here for a night while cycling through Andalusia in October, and it was relaxing and enjoyable. The local food was great, and the place was clean and good value. It makes a handy base for cycling or walking trips. We would have stayed longer if we hadn’t needed to keep to our schedule.

Good evening. I want other visitors to know how awful my stay at this hotel was. The staff were extremely rude, and neither I nor my four-year-old son liked the experience. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and never had such a bad one. The bathroom in our room was worn, filthy and very old, and the pool was dirty too. In the photos it looks blue like a lagoon, but in person the tiles were yellow and slimy. The woman who took my reservation said she’d booked us a room with the hotel’s best views and air conditioning. The view wasn’t important to me, but there was no air conditioning when we arrived. There was a ceiling fan, but it was broken. I told the receptionist how upset I was with the conditions and asked whether I could get a refund because I was considering leaving early. She said she couldn’t refund me, which I understand, so I stayed. She gave me a standing fan, but it was dirty. This morning my partner, my four-year-old son and I woke up very ill with sore throats. It was the first time I’d been treated like a dog in a hotel. I left very upset, hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else, and will never return.

On our family road trip, this turned out to be one of the highlights. It’s a special place for enjoying nature, with wonderful views, a pool, a good breakfast and a peaceful atmosphere. Manolo and his wife took such good care of us. Everything was just right, highly recommended!

We loved this beautiful, rustic hotel in the middle of Andalucia. The rooms are really spacious, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were kind and very attentive. Communication with them was great. I’d definitely like to come back one day :)
