Hotel Marina Benalmadena

The beds were really comfortable, and we made good use of the pool and jacuzzi. The villa was spotless, and the hosts were welcoming and available whenever we needed them. It’s a relaxing place to stay, with the marina and beach about a 5-10 minute walk away. Just got back and had a great time, would recommend it.

The pool was great, and so was the kebab shop around the corner. The villa itself was a letdown. It looked very different from the photos and seemed poorly maintained, with what we thought might be an ongoing woodworm problem. We were shocked when asked to leave for a day so it could be treated, and felt we hadn’t been told the truth about it. The linen was kept in a dirty shed covered in spider webs. The owners were hard to deal with when we raised concerns, and the camera overlooking the pool made us uncomfortable and felt like a serious invasion of privacy. Our holiday was ruined, which was especially disappointing because we all love visiting Benalmádena. I wouldn’t recommend this villa.

The villa in Benalmádena made what should have been a relaxing family holiday stressful and expensive. It was advertised as “luxury,” but looked nothing like the listing photos and needed far more maintenance than we expected. We tried to raise our concerns afterward, but didn’t feel they were taken seriously. I can’t recommend it unless there are major improvements to the upkeep, safety, privacy, and communication. There were troubling privacy issues too. A working CCTV camera with audio faced the pool and outdoor shower. When we reported it, the suggested fix was to cover it, which didn’t make us feel comfortable or reassured about an area like that. The maintenance problems started as soon as we arrived. Outside, there were cracked tiles, worn artificial grass, and exposed wiring, which seemed particularly risky with young children. Ants made the barbecue area almost unusable. Indoors, sinks and the macerator were blocked, and parts of the banisters looked like they were deteriorating. Halfway through our stay, we were told to leave for chemical treatment, despite family members having asthma and no advance warning. Communication with the management team was consistently difficult. Electricity fees and deductions from the bond hadn’t been clearly stated in the listing when we booked. At checkout, extra staff turned up without warning, making the situation tense and unsettling rather than professional.

A beautiful villa with a lovely view and a great spot near the beach. It has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, plus a heated pool, jacuzzi, lounge area, and BBQ. Amazing place!
