Best Siroco Hotel

Breakfast was a real highlight, with loads of options and fresh omelettes made to order. The location is brilliant, and the new pool and bar being built didn't affect our stay. Some rooms are a bit tired, though. We had to ask reception to move us from room 410 because it smelled so bad we couldn't sleep. The wardrobe wouldn't open properly, and using the toilet meant backing in because the sink unit was right beside it. They moved us the next morning to room 420, which was perfect. I'd recommend the hotel for its location.

The hotel sits just behind the beachfront, with lots of outdoor space. We stayed for a week with friends and had a really good time. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast had plenty to choose from. We'd definitely stay again.

The half-board rate we booked was the most affordable in the area, and dinner was plentiful. The hotel is handy for the marina, with bus stops right outside. But the stay fell short of what was advertised, and if we'd known about the building work, we wouldn't have booked. We reserved an eight-night stay in August 2025 for April 2026, choosing a Premier Room with Drinks Package. The listing said it included tea and coffee facilities, slippers, two bottles of water and two soft drinks in the room each day, plus a bottle of wine and water with dinner each evening. On arrival, our room overlooked the garden pool, with major construction directly outside. Around ten workers were there, and drills, saws and cement mixers made constant noise. We hadn't been told about this project when booking. We asked reception to move us. There was no alternative that night, but we accepted a different room the following evening. The view was better, but the room was in poor shape: the bathroom extractor and vanity mirror light didn't work, the toilet roll holder was loose, and grout was missing between tiles. The bedroom door handle was coming away from its screws. The balcony sliding door had no outside handle, making it hard to get back in if fully closed. The wardrobe mirror was cracked, and there was a fist-sized hole in the wall, badly patched with plaster and left unfinished. We felt uncomfortable making more complaints about the room. The package was also not provided as promised. There were no slippers, tea or coffee facilities, or daily drinks in the room. Reception said it would be sorted that day, but nothing changed. We had to contact them again the next day, and housekeeping finally dealt with it three days into our holiday. No one apologized or offered any goodwill gesture. That service was well below what we'd expect from a premium package. Check-in came with little information about the hotel. Nobody explained how the restaurant worked or that pool towels required a deposit from reception and were handed out by the pool attendant. We believe we should have been warned about the major work, received the full Premier package, and been offered an apology, compensation or a discount for the disruption. The experience did not meet the standard we expected.

The location was the main reason we chose this hotel. It's easy to reach all parts of Benalmadena, and we walked to Torremolinos one afternoon in about an hour. Jet 2 told us about the construction a week before we left, when no other hotel in the area within our budget had availability, so we felt we had to stay. The weather wasn't great, which meant we were mostly away from the pool and the work didn't affect us much. In sunny weather, we'd have been annoyed. There's no pool bar or toilet there either, so you have to walk up the hill and steps to reception to use the bar and toilets. The room was poorly cleaned. Squashed old bugs were still on the ceiling, walls and curtains. The skirting board didn't meet the wall, and there were gaps where the ceiling met the wall too, so spiders and other insects got in. The finish was poor and didn't feel worthy of a four-star hotel. The hairdryer was so weak you'd be better off drying your hair in the wind on the balcony. On the plus side, the shower was great and the beds were large and comfortable. Breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold food, and the Prosecco perked us up. The large dining room was very loud and had no fresh air. Guests running along the corridors at night also need to be dealt with because they disturbed us. I don't think this is a four-star hotel. Money spent on the pointless infinity pool that's being built would be better used to update the dated rooms, clean the sunbed and pool area, and soundproof the corridors and restaurant.
