MedPlaya Hotel Alba Beach (ex Med Playa Hotel Balmoral)

I’ve just returned from my fourth 14-day stay here and have already booked again for next year. It’s a three-star hotel that, in my opinion, gives better-than-three-star service at a reasonable price when booked as a Jet2 package. The location is great, near the seafront and bus stops, with a couple of nice places for lunch close by. The staff are good, the rooms a little small but very comfortable and spotless. They’re cleaned daily, and towels and sheets are changed regularly. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The menus rotate over seven days, so they don’t get too repetitive, and I’ve always found something I like. There’s a nice lounge and good WiFi. I’ve never watched the entertainment or used the pool. Counting the days until my next visit.

I was travelling on my own and felt very welcome. The place was dated, but very clean, and my comfortable room was cleaned every day. I only had breakfast, which was like breakfast at any other hotel. I had a very nice stay and would go back.

We had a good time at Medplaya Alba beach. The staff were really nice and helpful, the hotel was near the beach, and the food was surprisingly good. The rooms were pleasant and cosy, with good AC and really high water pressure in the shower. The one frustration was the pool and sunbeds. A group of elderly people claimed them by putting towels down early in the morning, then left the area while keeping the beds occupied all day.

Just got home after 10 days at this fabulous hotel. The pool is beautiful, the dining area is absolutely stunning, and the staff are ready to help with anything. I don’t know why it isn’t four-star. Five stars from me, and I’d give it six if I could.
