Waterfront Puerto Apartment

I couldn’t sleep properly, had no reliable water, and ended up needing urgent medical care during this stay. I booked through VRBO from May 29 to June 15, and the construction beside the bedroom ran loudly most days from 8 a.m. into the evening. Management said they couldn’t do anything about the noise. I also had symptoms of sleep deprivation and was treated for exposure to a toxin from the construction. Getting to the apartment was a mess from the start. The online check-in site kept timing out and showing errors on several devices, even though I sent management proof. I couldn’t finish check-in before landing in Malaga, so I had to go to their office, half an hour from the apartment. The address they gave wasn’t recognized by GPS. My Uber driver circled for 15 minutes and left me at the Puerto Marina Hotel, where staff didn’t know the address either. I wandered around with my luggage for two hours. The property staff sent a Maps PIN, but it led to a spot with only bars. I sent photos and a screenshot, and by then I was crying, sweating, exhausted, and sure I’d been scammed. Someone at nearby Kaleido, Jackyn, kindly spent an hour walking around with me. The property staff sent videos of the entrance, but Jackyn was the one who finally recognized the gate and got me there. Inside, the floors were dirty and there was no toilet paper. Staff brought some, but there was no housekeeping, so I cleaned the floors myself. The laundry machine, refrigerator, and dishwasher didn’t work either. About 36 hours after I arrived, there was no hot water. Management said maintenance could look the next day. I asked for compensation because waiting a full day for hot water was unacceptable, but got no reply. I couldn’t shower, and luckily had a friend on holiday in Malaga. When I returned to sleep on June 3, the hot water still wasn’t fixed. Staff told me to inspect the boiler myself. I said that was dangerous advice for a guest, since I’m not a technician, and kept calling with no response. The following day there was no running water at all, and it stayed off for two days. I asked to leave and get a refund, but the property didn’t answer. VRBO said it could only contact the property for me, and, as far as I know, the property never replied to them. I repeated the refund and early departure request to both, without a response from the property. Later VRBO claimed I hadn’t asked during the stay. When I sent its own written confirmation showing that I had, it stopped responding. After I left, I wrote a review. VRBO emailed to say it was ready, but the version I saw was glowing and called the stay “amazing.” I flagged it and emailed VRBO. There was no reply, and later I was told my original review wouldn’t be approved.
