A small rural hotel situated in the picturesque Parque Natural de Sierra de Grazalema (natural park), but only 10 minutes drive from the city of Ronda. The hotel is located on the banks of the river Guadiaro, one mile from the village of Benaojan and enjoys superb views of the surrounding sierras. It is a tastefully converted flour mill, with the 11 bedrooms located around a typical Spanish courtyard. There is an indoor restaurant, bar and a beautiful outdoor dining area on the banks of the river. There is also a swimming pool, while all rooms are equipped with standard facilities including air conditioning. The hotel arranges hiking expeditions, both organized and independent, in the surrounding sierras and the owners are very knowledgeable on the best hiking routes. This makes the hotel the perfect place to stay for an enjoyable break among the mountains of Andalucia.

We had two breakfasts and two dinners, plus a packed lunch, and the food was amazing. It may have been the best we had on our three-week trip around Andalucia. Our room was really comfortable, and having tea and coffee facilities there was much appreciated. Right outside the hotel, there are very scenic hiking trails. The setting is beautiful, with the river and birdsong all around.

There are wonderful hikes right from the property, and the train station at Benaojan is a short walk away, with trains to Ronda and further afield. I loved the pool above the hotel, the welcome breeze while I was there, and the breathtaking views across the landscape. Philip and Susan, the English couple who restored the mill, run the place with warm, relaxed hospitality. It feels like a home from home, with everything taken care of so you can unwind. Hotel Molino Cuatro Paradas is in a peaceful rural spot just outside Benaojan, surrounded by nature, trickling water and birdsong. Lovely little place tucked away off the beaten track. Breakfast was great. Room 7 has a really nice balcony. I was disappointed to find out after booking that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, since that hadn't been mentioned when we reserved.

The hotel is quiet and sits just a few miles from the fabulous city of Ronda, which makes for a great location. Its atmosphere is really charming, and the owner was very helpful.
