The beach is clean and sandy, around a 15-minute walk away. This campsite is in a developed area, which is unusual, and evenings can get noisy. It caters to more permanent residents and has a separate area for tent campers, not vans. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Cuban restaurant serves great food, and they also have dance lessons in the evening.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants near the campsite, but the beach is closed, and there’s not much to see in Benicassim. The campsite itself is expensive and needs a good tidy-up. The showers are dirty, the sinks, showers and toilets all need updating, and the sink on our pitch is rusty. It could be okay with some attention.

It’s a very laid-back site, with lots of permanent residents and many friendly French people. Shops, the beach and a tennis court are all around you. The site is lovely and quiet, though it could use a little TLC.
