Iberflat Apartamentos los Pinos

The apartment was a great base for the last four days of our Spain trip. We had two very similar rooms, one for the kids and one for my wife and me, and both were nicely equipped. The beach was less than five minutes away, with restaurants nearby too. It’s a residential area and things get quiet around nine, so we enjoyed some restful evenings and walks. A couple of small things could’ve been better: for four nights, there was only one dishwasher tablet and one coffee pod, and no salt or black pepper. We bought those at a grocery store. The pool was closed, which we missed. Also, you can park overnight on the street, so we didn’t need to pay for parking. It’d be helpful if the apartment mentioned that or made parking free.

We’ve stayed at Los Pinos several times and were happy enough to leave positive reviews before, and we still enjoy coming here. On our late April visit, though, we noticed some changes. The location is very good and the accommodation was clean inside, but the outside looks shabby, with streaked surfaces that badly need painting. It was hard to get a direct response from management about booking issues, and we didn’t see any staff during our four-night stay. The lock on room 102 was faulty and often took a while to open. The pool was closed again. Those things are fairly minor, but they did make this stay different from earlier visits.

The location is the best part, with the sea close by and some lovely mountains only about a five-minute drive away. The apartment had everything we needed, even for a longer stay.

There was no real communication with the staff. The woman answered the phone, then hung up as soon as she heard me speaking English. The apartment itself was okay, but the pool was very shallow, knee-deep at most.
