The balcony had a great view of the sea and mountains, and the location is handy, between the new and old towns in the middle of Benidorm. You can catch a bus right outside, and good supermarkets are close by for stocking up on water and drinks. But I wouldn’t stay here again. The apartments were shabby and dirty. The floors were filthy, and my feet went black walking from the bathroom to the bedroom. The shower head wouldn’t stay up, so you had to hold it to wash. The bathroom shelf slanted, meaning nothing would stay on it. The fridge handle was sticky with dirt and the inside was grubby. The beds were uncomfortable, and you couldn’t reach the wardrobes without moving them. The sheets had what looked like bloodstains. There are several steps at the entrance and a very steep ramp for disabled access or luggage. It was too dangerous for my disabled mum and nephew to use. If the place had at least been clean, I wouldn’t have minded the shabby condition.

A friend booked it for us, and the apartment was fabulous. The service was great too. We asked for a bigger kettle and got one within half an hour. A full-length mirror was the only thing missing. The location was great, and we could use the pool at the hotel across the road.

The extra €18 a day for air conditioning is outrageous. The video I'm providing shows the charge. The room itself was clean, the location was good, and the services were fine, but that fee feels like a way to make quick money. The unit is so loud that sleeping is impossible, and it can only be installed with the blinds left up. That means sunlight coming straight in at 7:30 in the morning. If you’re fine paying €150 a night for that noise and bright room, go ahead and book.

It’s central, but the noise was a problem. The apartment is next to a hospital, with lots of ambulances and police cars going past. There’s plenty of space for a large group and the rooms are nice. Cleanliness needs work, though. I have allergies, and there was dust on the shelves and lint all over the floor. When we switched on the fan, dust fell on us.

The terrace and living room were great, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We spent the weekend here with colleagues, and the apartment did the job for our group.
