GBH Hotel-Apartamentos Caballito de Mar

We’ve just come back from five nights here. The host was friendly and quick to respond on WhatsApp. The apartments were clean and well equipped, with a kettle, coffee filter, a few teabags, coffee and sugar, plus a microwave. Shower gel and hand soap were provided too. The block is in a good spot in Benidorm Old Town, about a seven-minute walk downhill to the beach and harbour. We booked a standard apartment for four, but even with three of us it felt very small and a bit impractical. Only two people fit on the balcony, which has two chairs and a small table. Once the sofa bed is unfolded, there’s no room to get past it to the balcony, and it’s a very tight shuffle to the front door, bathroom, or bedroom. There’s almost no storage for anyone sleeping on the sofa bed. Bins are collected outside very early most mornings. It was so noisy it woke us even with earplugs in. Would I stay again? Yes, if it were just me and one other person for a few nights.

The lady at reception went out of her way to help us enjoy our stay and even arranged our transfer back to the airport, so we could just relax. The rooms were clean and modern, and the location was perfect. We stayed two nights and couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks for a great break.

Everything’s nearby, and the beach is only a short walk away. Tapas alley is 400 metres away in the old town, with lots of bars around. There’s a paid car park 200 metres away and a Spar supermarket very close by. The place itself is lovely and spotlessly clean. The contact lady was spot on and spoke great English. I wholly recommend it. The second double bed, meaning the sofa bed, wasn’t as comfortable as the main bed, but it was adequate. Five stars.

We slept so well here that we’re regretting booking an oceanfront hotel for the other half of our trip and want to come back. The beds are incredibly comfortable, firm but like a cloud, and I didn’t wake up with back pain, which is very rare for me. The apartment is spotless, four minutes’ walk from the beach, and the AC works perfectly. Great shower too. They supplied coffee and even left detergent for a load of washing in the washing machine. I can’t say enough good things about it.
