Aparthotel BCL Levante Beach

The location is perfect, and reception staff were really nice. We had a roomy two-bedroom apartment with two large TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. But our room wasn't cleaned for four days. The toilet was right beside the shower's glass panel, leaving little space to move, and the shower let water spread across the floor. It was manageable with a towel down.

The rooms were clean enough, and the maid came in to change the bedding and towels. Reception staff were really nice. It was basic, but it met our needs. The lift was quite slow.

The reception staff were lovely to talk to and did sort out problems, including disabling our doorbell so nobody could ring it during the night. But rooms were meant to be cleaned every three days. We stayed seven days and got just one clean, no bedding change and only one fresh set of towels. We picked this aparthotel because of the good reviews and expected a decent night's sleep. Instead, people came in ringing the doorbells and trying our door every night, keeping us awake. The bell is right beside the light switch, and I don't understand why there are doorbells at all. The bathroom window let people see in while we showered, so we had to cover it with a towel. The walls are extremely thin: we heard loud guests until the early hours, chairs scraping upstairs and bin men at 1am. The shower flooded the bathroom, and the toilet seat wasn't fixed properly and shifted when sat on. The entrance looks lovely, but the corridor by the rooms and the lift is very small and cramped. We were extremely disappointed by a miserable week.

We had a spacious one-bedroom apartment, a well-equipped kitchen, a powerful shower and a nice big balcony. The beds were two singles and a bit hard. A real bonus was having hotel internet in the room, since it's normally only available in communal areas. Staff were friendly, check-in was very quick and we were even able to get in early. The pool area was good, with no trouble finding a sunbed, though it can get a bit busy when full. Bar service was quick and the drinks and food reasonably priced. Daniel, the entertainment rep, was fun, and we enjoyed the games, even when my wife nearly killed us with the bow and arrow. Nightlife is close, but it was quiet at night. We did see some stag and hen parties, but they caused no problem and we didn't hear them coming in. We came back 25th June after a cracking week. I'd rate the stay better than a 2 star hotel.
