Mariscal by Gestaltur

The crockery wasn’t fit for purpose, and the apartment really needs an overhaul. It’s a very basic place, fine for a few nights perhaps, but we stayed for ten days.

We’ve stayed at Mariscal Apartments six times between 2022 and 2024, twice in block 5 and four times in block 4. Four bookings were through Booking.com and two directly with Gestaltur S.L. Communication was excellent each time, and we registered over WhatsApp on every visit. The location was excellent, about three minutes on foot from the strip and square near Cafe Benidorm, and around five minutes from Levante beach. Tommy's, Wooky Hollow 2, Buddies, and New Life Pub are all an easy walk away, along with cafes, restaurants, takeaways, and supermarkets. Pizza Ibiza sells sausage rolls, pasties, and pies, and Consum is next door to Buddies. The blocks are clean and traditional, with lifts, two shared pools, and a large car park. A list of common sense rules and charges is on the back of the front door in each apartment. At check-in, we paid a 150€ breakage deposit per booking by credit card. The welcome pack includes washing-up liquid, a sponge, a tea towel, and miniature toiletries. Safes cost 2.50€ a day with a 10€ refundable deposit, and air conditioning costs 10€ a day. We stayed in four apartments. 10B in Mariscal 5 was very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen including a fridge, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, ironing board, and iron. The bathroom was dated, with a shower over the bath. The furniture was functional but old, and the sofa bed was damaged. There was a large private open terrace with a partial sea view, clothes airer, table, and chairs. Air conditioning was charged by the day, while WiFi was free. 8B in Mariscal 5 was spotless and very spacious, with its terrace glazed in, an extra single bed, dining area, and full-size fridge freezer. It had a modern kitchen with a breakfast bar, washing machine, kettle, microwave, iron, hob, and mini oven. There was a large TV in the lounge and a modern bathroom with a big walk-in shower and plenty of storage. The bedroom furniture was old, but there was a large safe. No WiFi or air conditioning, but it did have a standing fan and portable heater. 10C in Mariscal 4 had been freshly painted and was immaculately clean. Its old furniture looked almost new and was well cared for. The spacious apartment had a glazed terrace with a glimpse of the sea, outdoor table and chairs, a clothes airer, and an ironing board. The kitchen was well equipped with a kettle, toaster, hob, oven, fridge, iron, and microwave. The beds had new, very comfortable mattresses. There was a shower over the bath, air conditioning for a daily charge, and free WiFi. The TV was small, and there was no washing machine. 10A in Mariscal 4 was a clean, comfortable corner apartment with two terraces, a utility room with a washing machine, and a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge freezer, kettle, microwave, and oven. It had a shower over the bath. We were told to check out by 10am, so you need to get to the office just before opening to be sure of doing it on time. The process was quick, and our breakage deposit came back the next day. These are spacious, well-equipped self-catering apartments and we’d recommend them if you’re not after luxury and can live with thin walls.

We’ve stayed here lots of times and have booked again for July 2023. The apartments are big, have a full kitchen, TV, and air conditioning that you pay for. They’re right in the centre of benidorm, with tommys pub next door and a big market just around the corner on Wednesdays and Sundays. There’s a pool, though we don’t use it. 9/10 🥰

The rooms are dated but clean, and you get what you pay for. It’s only about a five minute walk to the strip, so I’d use the place again. The 100 euro deposit per room had to be paid in cash, which was annoying. You also have to collect and return the key somewhere else, but knowing that, I’d still come back.
