Picasso Apartments

We had a relaxing holiday, and these apartments worked well as a cheap, clean base. The area was quiet, the room was clean, and the pool, though in need of paint, was clean and had chairs, a table and sunbeds. The small bar and cafe area served nice food, and the reception staff were lovely. We arrived in the early hours with my two children, and Barbara at reception was so kind. I was about to go out looking for food for the kids, but she arranged a takeaway delivery, checked we had enough bedding and towels, and made up the sofa bed for my youngest. It was a last-minute break, but we'd recommend the apartments if you're after an inexpensive place.

The staff were so friendly, and the food and drinks were cheap and great first thing in the morning when we had a hangover. I got the deposit back about a week later, with no problem, and I'd definitely stay again. My friend and I were there for a week and, given how cheap it was, we hadn't expected much but were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were a little dated but spacious, very clean, and the balcony was big. The pool was nice and clean, and there was always a sunbed free. It isn't far from the strip and beach, but it's uphill, which was fine for us. I'd avoid it if you have mobility issues. There was a lovely woman on reception, though I can't remember her name.

I stayed for a week over Christmas and it was freezing. The heater and air-con didn't help much, and the rooms are dated but clean. The apartment, Picasso, is up a slight hill too. We arrived at 2 a.m. and had to collect the keys from Don gregorio. Maybe it would have been easier if I hadn't already been drunk. At check-in I was asked for a £200 deposit. I expected a small one, but that felt like too much. They should mention the amount on the website or booking.

Kelvin was a huge help when we needed to extend our stay by a day. Nothing seemed like a problem for him. He's an incredible asset to the apartment complex, and if he's undervalued, you need to address that. The daytime bar and food are run by a lady who wasn't particularly friendly and could be quite rude. The place itself is basic, cheap and clean, and near the beach if you can manage the hill easily. But it's a seriously steep climb every time you head out, and the rooms weren't cleaned during our stay.
