Hotel Sol & Sombra

The food was really nice, with plenty of options, and the staff were lovely and very helpful. We had a very nice time, and I'd recommend the hotel to everyone. The rooftop pool has a good view. It should be a five-star place, but the shower curtains aren't great. Ours was on the floor when we checked in, and we couldn't manage to fix it. Thank you!

The hotel was noisy, and it's a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. The food came in large portions with plenty of variety, and the quality was reasonable. Room cleanliness could be better, and the elevators were always out of order. Most of the staff weren't very attentive or polite. I also felt Portuguese guests were treated worse than Spanish guests. The difference was obvious and hard to understand, especially as people are the same regardless of nationality or color, and Benidorm gets many Portuguese tourists.

There was no way to get peace and quiet in the room. Music from the hotel restaurant started at 10 pm and carried on past midnight. The other guests were older Spanish people who spoke loudly and made a lot of noise in their rooms. Even after the party ended around midnight, you could hear everything outside because the windows and walls were so thin. I don't recommend staying here.

The location worked really well for the old town and Ponte beach. Levante beach is about a 20-minute walk away. We spent three nights on a half-board basis. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were cleaned every day, and the food was good. The hotel is great, though the rooms are a little dated. They were very clean and serviced daily. Most of the guests seemed to be Spanish.
