Torre Ercilla Ostatua

The room itself was lovely, though it felt a little dated. What really disturbed our stay was how little sound was blocked. We got woken up on both nights, once by guests or neighbors coming back to their room, and another time by hammering starting in the morning.

Bermeo’s old town location was great, just two minutes from the port, with incredible views. My partner and I stayed during Holy Week and felt very comfortable. The rooms were spacious, beautiful, and clean, and the treatment we received was exceptional.

A friendly, helpful owner, Gorku, made this a nice, cosy hostel.

The young man who helped us was excellent. He gave us lots of information about the town and the surrounding area, and the location is very central. The entrance to the guesthouse itself felt welcoming, like the entrance to a house, but getting there was unpleasant: the facade was frightening, and the entrance and stairs leading up to it left a lot to be desired and smelled of dog urine. Our room hadn’t been cleaned well. There was dust, cobwebs, stains on the walls and headboard, and marks on the towels. The shower grout also had quite a lot of mold. At €75, the room was very poor value for money. I wouldn’t pay that much for the service we received.
