The beds were comfortable, the house was clean, and there were lots of nice little details. Its kitchen has everything you need and more. The old town's BonArea supermarket is nearby, and the house sits right on the edge of the old town. The interior is lovely and atmospheric, and you can tell the owner has put her heart into it. It feels homely, like visiting while the owners are out. All contact with the owner is through WhatsApp. There are no mosquitoes, but also no air conditioning. The house has two separate apartments. The one on the first floor has a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. The other covers the second and third floors. Although that one is designed for a family with children, its bathroom is downstairs, which makes nighttime stair trips inconvenient. The “Patio” is more like a concrete well with a sofa and junk. We couldn't connect to the WiFi. You can hear everything inside the old house: if a child jumps, it's CLEARLY audible on the floor below. A small bakery in the house opposite makes strange sounds from 2 am that can scare you, though the smell of bread and croissants in the morning is lovely.

The duplex has a lot of stairs for little kids. My son accidentally fell while coming down from the bedrooms. The house itself feels cozy, decorated like a home that has been lived in for ages. Its quiet location and the owner's friendly service were highlights, even though she was only reachable by mobile text message.

It got quite hot while we were there, so ceiling fans would be a welcome improvement. Even so, we were delighted with the clean house and the owner, and would highly recommend staying here. It's centrally located, with easy parking outside, and has what a family or group of friends needs, including a fully equipped kitchen, utensils and some basic cooking items. The house is romantic and cozy, and the owner shares all the necessary information. We stayed for a couple of days. Thank you!

The owner is happy to answer questions and suggest places to eat or visit. The apartment is furnished with care, and the bed is extremely comfortable. A fantastic base for exploring Besalú and the surrounding area.
