The room was clean and comfortable, just right for a simple, restful stay. The couple at reception were sweet and helpful despite the language barrier, since I don't speak Spanish and they didn't speak English. From here it's about a 6-minute walk to the city square, restaurants, bars, and the charming old city, and roughly 10 minutes to rejoin the Camino. A modest but very pleasant place. Highly recommended!

We were disappointed with this place and felt it was vastly overpriced. We paid €114 for a triple room for one night, compared with around €80 in other towns, and had expected it to be a treat. The room was very tired. The blackout blinds, on windows that oddly went around the whole room including beside the bed, wouldn't open fully and had holes. At breakfast we were charged extra for having butter with our croissants. There are definitely better places to stay.

A cheap, no-frills stop on the Camino. It's a bit bare, but the towels and sheets were clean and everyone was very nice. The breakfast lady was lovely and tried to get our coffees out as quickly as she could, bless her.

A fairly large hotel near the town center. There's no restaurant, though breakfast is available. Reception, the rooms, and WiFi were all average, and the mattresses were poor.

Getting into central Betanzos was easy, just a 4-minute walk downhill. The walk back up took longer, especially after a few drinks! The beds were the worst part. We had two singles pushed together that felt like glorified camp beds, and they made a terrible noise whenever you turned over. There was no chance of getting up to any mischief without the whole hotel knowing! 😂
