Abba Euskalduna Hotel

The breakfast was a real treat, with different cheeses, jamon, eggs, sausages, champagne, and regular and vegan milk. We’d traveled to Vigo and Santiago that autumn, and for the same money you don’t get this much variety there. The local food corner was lovely too, though on the second day the delicious local cottage cheese I’d enjoyed was gone. A mini bar and kettle were useful for tea and keeping jamon fresh. Mercadona is 5 mis away if you want food or something ready for dinner, and local bars serving food and wine are just around the corner. We found the hotel quiet and clean, with a good mattress and pillows, soft towels, nice gels and shampoo, and a tooth care kit. The bathroom tiles made the floor a bit cold, and there was no carpet or other soft flooring in the room. I think carpeting would add a lot for a four star place. Staff were very professional, and we could leave our luggage after checkout and get spoons if needed. It’s not right in the center, but still close. With a Barik card, the train from the Metro station near the stadium is a good way to reach the center or the famous bridge. Corte Engles is an easy walk, or you can take one of the many buses onward to the local market and old city. There’s a great park nearby for a run, and the walk to Gugennheim museum is pleasant. The airport bus stop is also a 5 minute walk, and the ride takes 30 mins. We’d stay again with the family when we’re back in Bilbao. Thank you!
