When we arrived, the apartment had such a strong thinner smell that we couldn’t stay there. There was renovation work in the building. We complained to Baps apartment and asked for a refund, but instead I was called a liar, and we had to pay for another hotel in Bilbao as well. Be warned, I wouldn’t book here.

We were four, and the space wasn’t large, but it worked for our main goal: staying central and exploring Bilbao on foot. The location made that easy, with Casco Viejo nearby and the Guggenheim a bit farther along a very enjoyable riverside walk. There are little grocery shops close by for breakfast supplies, and the host arranged parking nearby for 16 euros, which I loved. Communication was very good and check-in was easy.

The place smelled bad, the neighborhood felt bad, and there was a rat in the ceiling. Also much too small to eat comfortably.
