A few things worked in its favor: the downtown location was convenient for seeing the city, the price was a bargain, a couple of employees were nice, and they let me pay for my reservation in person even though they don't usually accept that. The bed was alright, but I had to use one of the sheets as a makeshift curtain around it. The name is misleading because this is actually an albergue. The showers had no doors or curtains, so water went everywhere, and the mold was bad enough that I could smell the black mold. The lockers don't work, which left nowhere secure for my belongings. It felt like I just had to hope nothing was stolen while I slept or went out. There seemed to be an employee sleeping in every room. The one in mine was grumpy, and on my first morning he got annoyed that I wasn't leaving like the pilgrims sharing the room. I might be grumpy too if I had to stay there for work. I also needed to work at night, but couldn't stay in the lobby past midnight. The area felt somewhat sketchy, although I never saw anything bad happen. In the end, I think this would only suit pilgrims on the Camino.

I had a terrible time here and can't think of anything good to say. The entrance hall smelled rotten, and when I pointed it out, nobody seemed to care. Some guests felt weird to me: they came back late, and one stared at me. The air in the room was stuffy, so sleeping was difficult. Opening the window brought in bright light and a lot of noise. I finally got some sleep around 2 in the morning. The neighborhood felt sketchy too. I'd say don't stay here.

The shower had good water pressure, and across the road we found an Asian supermarket with good snacks. Those were the only positives for me. The hostel's atmosphere felt really depressing, and the neighborhood was dodgy. The photos on Google don't show what the place actually feels like. The bathroom was damp and gross all the time. One man at reception was extremely rude to my friends and me on several occasions. The kitchen fridges are treated like a free for all, so food may get eaten by other guests, and they badly need cleaning out. Lockers are small and won't take a regular-sized lock, so there's really no security for your things. I wouldn't stay here again.

The staff were nice and I had no issues with them. It was a 16-minute walk from the cathedral of bilbao, so the location was good and close to the old city. The beds were fine, but the bathroom was a bit dirty and had no toilet seat. For the same price, I had a much nicer-looking hostel and a clean bathroom at Poshtel, so I had a better experience there.

I felt very unsafe as a solo female traveler in this scary neighborhood, and this place didn't feel like a hostel. The room was super dirty, and the bathroom was unusable. There were many much older guests who looked like they might be part of a halfway house or rehab program. I arrived just before 9, but the front door was locked and reception was closed. A guest let me in. There was a sign saying 9-9, but nobody was there. I called and emailed many times, then started knocking on rooms to look for an empty bed because the interior door was open. After 45 minutes, I found the worker by banging on all the bedroom doors, and finally got checked in. The pillow and mattress were rubber, and I had to put the sheets on myself. They had never been washed, thankfully I travel with a sleeping bag. This should be rated zero. Don't stay here.
